My daughter number three, Becca, has challenged me to do a detox with her over the coming winter break. She needs it and I really could use it, too. So we have become accountability partners.

Here is what we plan to do:

For the next four days we are eating only raw fruit and veggies. I will use a light dressing made of ACV and a touch of olive oil/flax oil with herbs.

We will drink plenty of fresh well water and herb teas.

ON Monday, the 17th, we will go to just fruit and vegetable juices. I will add Perfect food by Garden of Life to “fill in the blanks”.

I am also doing interval training to help ramp up my metabolism.

I will keep you up to date with the progress as well as any modifications to the cleanse as we go along.

Of course you have to use caution with young infants as there is a concern that the botulism spores may be harmful to the their underdeveloped immune systems. Botulism is not a concern in a healthy, mature immune system.

I had to write a bit more on this subject of finding a miracle for Ross and Betty. I have spent so many years finding cures, remedies, therapies that help the body to get well and have had numerous “notches” in my gun (all health issues have been solved 99% at home with God’s natural herbs and simple therapies).

My “trophies” hung in the walls of my mind. Knowing my kids and husband didn’t go to the doctor for typical illnesses and that even the toughies like pneumonia and bronchitis hung on the wall right up there with regulating/curing my lifelong digestive problems including chronic appendicitis (yes, it can be chronic).

I had built such a confidence bordering on pride in my achievements. I could tell you you can heal anything with full expectation it is true. But I lost track of the fact that I could only make these choices for my young children and willing husband. As my children have gotten older, they choose to “forget” the cures Mom gave them all those years. So far, only one of them has gone to the doctor for a mess of carbuncles in a very uncomfortable place. But all of them still call Mom and ask, what do I do for_____?

Enter two aged adults with habits well set. I knew (I still know!) if they would just change some things they would at the very least improve their quality of life and maybe even reverse some of the problems that cause their pains. But old habits die hard. And when you hurt – it takes all your strength to get through it not to mention trying a new lifestyle. We turn to comforting habits of food and drink. We tend to cling to the warmth of a chair or bed. We don’t feel up to rocking the boat – it might toss us for good!

I love Betty and Ross enough to respect their choices for good or ill. They have enough to live with without me making them upset with possible cures. So like I brought up in the previous post, I will rest in my role of comforter and part time caregiver.

Thank you, God, for giving me the grace to love others when it is difficult. And after all isn’t that what love is?

Any of you who have read my Never Catch Another Cold ebook may remember me mentioning MMS, short for Miracle Mineral Supplement. For a good overview of MMS read my earlier article on MMS for Dummies.

That said, I have been taking it on and off for over a month. I say on and off because it has been hard for me to take. I have been taking it in water, though, and Jim recommends taking it in apple juice. I guess it is because I have an aversion to the smell of bleach, which is a by-product of mixing up MMS with the citric acid or vinegar. My husband and daughters don’t have a problem with it it’s just me, I guess.

Anyway, from my experience, MMS is making a huge difference in my immunity. I just don’t get sick anymore. [Now, I may get nauseous due to the MMS which just means I am taking too much. I need to remember to back it down instead of having the "more is better" syndrome.]

What can you learn from this? When you begin to take MMS, follow the dosage levels of 1 drop the first time, 2 the second time, 3 the third time, etc… till you get to a level that you feel nauseous (hey, it only means we are throwing off toxins – while it is not comfortable, it is not bad). When you begin to feel fine again a day or two later, continue to increase the drops till you get to your optimum level (roughly 3 drops for every 25 pounds of body weight). It is recommended to maintain this level for a month.

Then a good maintenance level is 1 drop for every 25 pounds daily.

Jim is now saying to use citric acid as the catalyst. At first he was recommended apple cider vinegar (which I still prefer). The reason for the change is that some of us are sensitive to ACV due to having a yeast over growth. My feeling is that unless you know you have yeast problems, don’t worry about using ACV.

Also, use half the amount of ACV than you use of Citric Acid. I use a 1/4 teaspoon ACV to up to 12 drops; 1/2 teaspoon up to 24 drops. Use twice that amount of citric acid.

Let me know what your experiences are with MMS. Since this is so new, I think it would be great if we could maintain a site with testimonies on MMS.
